Born to two diplomats from the Therosian city state of Meletis, Narcissus has been pressured to not only achieve but excel since the moment he could talk (the walking was irrelevant). His parents were of the belief that though theirs was a realm of heroes, the politicians were the real power, saviors who keep the wheels on while the heroes battle. So, Narcissus, then, needed to be perfectly educated, behaved, and well mannered lest their city state fall to ruin.

He doesn't mind, honestly - he wouldn't know what to do without pressure to hold him together, and he'll make more for himself if things start feeling too easy. When school got too easy, he'd pick up an extracurricular. When those weren't enough, he would stick his nose in a friend's business.

Strixhaven, then, is one more challenge in a long line of them, and Narcissus is both excited and filled with dread.

Narcissus is a bit taller than average, with dark hair and eyes. Though he tends toward the leanness of his elven heritage, Narcissus has the sort of skinny-pudginess of dedicated scholars, simultaneously all elbows with a little bit of a paunch. He always has good posture, a little too ramrod straight to look entirely comfortable.

cantrip magic Narcissus's magic is subtle, unshowy - often accompanied by the soft, warm glow of an oil lamp, the sound of rustling papers, and the scent of his namesake. When he is doing something more involved, one might catch little sparks, like dust motes popping over a candle flame. He uses it most often for convenience, fetching or summoning small items, creating a little light to read by, mending small tears. He also often attempts minor divination, but he's never sure whether his results are omens or his own worries.
